Job opportunities at Ripe
Our Company
Founded in 2015 in Park City, Utah, Ripe is a B2B travel technology company that helps destination, event, and travel-related websites connect travelers to lodging partners with ease.
Request A DemoOur Purpose
Our goal is simple: make local bookings more local. This meant decreasing the cost to hoteliers, generating missed revenue opportunities for organizations and suppliers, and creating an all-around better consumer experience.
Ripe /rīp/: Optimal timing and opportunity. No wasted influence and money. Help clients better service travelers when they are primed and ready to book.
How we got started
Ripe, previously known as RootRez was born as the booking engine and lodging service provider for the Sundance Film Festival – which happens to be in our backyard. The software we created spawned a company that now has broad geographic and segment reach. We serve a client base that includes DMOs, events and resorts throughout North America, with destinations that range from small towns to large metropolitan cities.
Our Team
Jason Linder
President & CEO
After studying commercial tourism in undergrad followed by a master’s degree in business administration, Jason was destined to end up in the travel industry. He began his career at a few large internet startups before spending a year backpacking around the world. In 2008, while working with the Sundance Film Festival, he proposed building a booking engine for their site. From the technology, Ripe was born. When not in his office chair, you can find Jason in his bike saddle, powering past you on the up hills, out traveling the world, or spending time with his wife and two kids.
Eric Thompson
Vice President of Sales & Marketing
While living most of his life in Salt Lake City, Eric has developed a passion for the many outdoor activities available at his doorstep. With over 30 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, he has been able to share his passion with visitors and potential travelers alike. After graduating from the University of Utah, a short winter break turned into a career, working in Sales and Marketing for the Park City Ski Area and then for the last 24 years, and most recently as the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Visit Salt Lake, the area’s destination marketing organization. He embraces technology and has been an early adopter of implementing many travel tech solutions and strategies. Eric loves to travel and appreciates the perspective it provides to make us better.
Alexa Chumpitaz
Senior Marketing Manager
Alexa is passionate about people, places, and stories. She spent her childhood in Californian beachside cities, on isolated ranches in the Southwest, and everywhere in between. As an undergrad, Alexa studied psychology and French in Massachusetts and Aix-en-Provence, France. She later taught French and Spanish while earning her master’s from the University of Pennsylvania. Alexa’s status as an East Coaster ended to start her marketing career, and she quickly took to communication strategy and audience-building. Living in so many places and among so many people, Alexa has developed a deep appreciation for local communities and connects with Ripe’s mission in that way. Most days, you can find Alexa playing volleyball at Sandbar or learning to snowboard at Brighton. She also loves art and is a proud winner of the Hopkins Brewery monthly coaster contest for her depiction of Lord Farquaad.
