Ripe’s Service & Support Fee
Ripe exists to empower destinations to own their visitor economies and keep tourism value in-market.
Why Am I Paying a Fee to Ripe?
Ripe is the provider of the technology that allows destinations to offer seamless and secure bookings. The Service & Support fee helps sustain this technology, while delivering additional benefits:
- Traveler support, 7 days a week, from real humans – not chatbots or AI assistants
- An alternative to commission-heavy booking sites, ensuring more of your spend stays local rather than being lost to external operators
- Reduced costs for lodging suppliers, helping to keep lodging rates down
- A 1:1 relationship between you (the traveler) and the lodging supplier, simplifying travel and communication
This fee is charged separately when a booking is made, and appears on statements as “Ripe* [name of destination booked].” The fee is non-refundable and does not affect the lodging supplier’s reservation terms, rates, taxes, or cancellation policies. If a lodging supplier has a penalty-free cancellation period, the fee remains non-refundable.
